General Questions
What do I use Stellic for?
Stellic is a degree audit and student success tool to help you organize and make the most of your time here at JHU. This tool is for you and your advisors to easily plan which classes you’ll take each semester, and keep track of your overall progress toward your degree.
What’s a degree audit?
A degree audit is a tool for tracking your degree progress towards graduation.
I’m overwhelmed! Where do I get started?
We recommend getting started by reviewing the Stellic Quickstart Guide for Students to get a basic overview of the system and to get oriented.
Tracking Your Progress
What do all these symbols mean?
View the Stellic help guide on tracking progress and the progress symbols overview for a description of what each of these symbols may mean.
Helpful tip: when you’re encountering an unfamiliar feature in Stellic, try hovering over it to expose explanation text.
What’s the difference between an “official” and “planned” audit?
An official audit shows the classes you’ve already taken or are registered in. A planned audit can incorporate classes you’ve planned out in future semesters using the Planner feature in Stellic.
What’s the difference between “Progress” and “Plans”?
Progress organizes the courses you have taken by requirement. Plans organizes your courses by semester.
Plan Your Path:
What’s the difference between “plans” and “planner”?
The Planner functionality allows you to create plans for future semesters, allowing you to drag-and-drop from an inventory of remaining requirements. (Clicking on “Plans” or “Planner” will get you to the same place!)
I’m getting error messages about “this course is not offered” or “this course is being offered at a different campus than my primary campus” – but I know these are being offered. Why?
As of 9/10/2024, these are known issues that the Stellic project and technical teams are working to resolve. In the meantime, please disregard these notices until further updates.
Schedule:
How do I add my schedule to my calendar?
In your Schedule view, above your schedule and to the right of “Request to Review Plan,” click on the icon with two arrows:
This will generate an .ics file that you can double click to add the classes to your own calendar of choice.
Can I register for classes through Stellic?
At this time, no – students will still continue to register for classes through SIS.
