The Stellic implementation project is underway, and we are currently in the process of expanding our dedicated resources on the JHU and Stellic teams to ensure that the new degree audit system at JHU is built in a way that best serves students, learners and advisors across the university enterprise.

In the initial rollout last fall of JHU programs identified for December 2023 graduation clearance, we uncovered several challenges that highlighted the need for a different approach to the Stellic implementation. We had initially sought out to implement programs across the university enterprise on a rolling basis.  However, implementation was significantly delayed by the sheer number of programs with complex requirements, and incorrect coding and configuration of many programs in our SIS. Delays at the start of implementation led to a very tight time window for validation and testing with academic program staff to address issues and information gaps.

Going forward, we are shifting to a phased, sprint-based model that will allow us to focus our attention on smaller subsets of populations over three phases. This will also better align the timing and scope of system training and operational transition for divisional staff with availability of Stellic in each school. Also, we are tightening our project management framework so that we can better track the implementation progress and communicate issues and delays to all stakeholders.

This January, the project team leadership engaged in conversations with leadership from each of the divisions to inform them of the new phased approach and understand the divisional priorities regarding degree audit implementation. Based on those conversations, we have drafted a new schedule and timeline for divisional onboarding and rollout for Stellic.

As we get closer to your division’s onboarding, the project team will reach out to your divisional representatives to talk through project management, logistics, and training in audit validation.

More news to come shortly – stay tuned for updates.
